Current Respite by spicyshimmy
Fandom: Dragon Age II (game)
Pairing: Male Hawke/Fenris
Summary: Years later, Hawke wants to try his hand Nevarran dragon hunting. It would be appreciated, Fenris had written, if you ceased to goad a man who has earned his current respite.

My sekrit adoration for all things Dragon Age, let me show you it.

ON A SIMILAR NOTE, OH HOLY SHIT SKYRIM. I WILL NEVER GET ANYTHING DONE, EVER AGAIN.

So... went and bought Mass Effect and Mass Effect 2. Because its not like I have hella job training and finals to think about, or anything.

Bioware has infected me, what can I say.

But I'm kind of spoiled by Dragon Age's apparent mod-ability, as it seems that Mass Effect does not share those qualities.

But I shall survive.

It's kind of funny. I bought my gaming laptop with the intention of playing Dragon Age: Origins, and didn't spend a lot of time contemplating the other games that would be within my reach. That's changing, and I'm afraid for my bank account...

Anyway, any extended radio silence from now on can probably be attributed to my games arriving and my free time/sleep being chucked out the window.

Spring Break, motherfuckers!

You know, the one where I'm working my ass off as opposed to sitting at home, playing Dragon Age II? Yeah.

ALSO, FUNNY STORY.

I pre-ordered DAII, which came out last week. My order was delayed, which was to be expected for a brand new game. I was to expect the delivery sometime Wednesday or Thursday.

And then, yesterday, I receive an e-mail informing me that my order won't be arriving until April 27th. I was like, "bitch, please," and began googling for retail stores that might be carrying the game.

Every single store was carrying DAII. In substantial quantities.

Who canceled their motherfucking online order and bought that bitch over-the-counter? This girl.

RIP sleep, is all I'm sayin.

XD

Let's talk about Jonathan Strange & Mr. Norrell. In case I haven't, already.

Pretty sure I have. Oh well. Whatever. )

Anyway, that whole rant was just my way of leading into this fic rec. Because those two characters I actually did like? Feature in it, front and center. And as much as it pains me to say it, the story will make a lot more sense if you've read the book.

Pairing: None.
Summary: In which John Childermass realizes the difference between myth and reality.

And, in other news, there is now The Sims: Medieval.
This close to the release of Dragon Age 2, I can't help but be like, "Fucking bandwagon. Get off my lawn."

Yeah, so school and Dragon Age: Origins.

I definitely just had a gay love affair with the elf in my group and even I was surprised by the fact that, yep, their clothes are off and that is actually happening on my screen. In stereo.

I just. Woah.

AND I PLAY BL GAMES, YOU GUYS, WHAT IS THIS I DON'T EVEN.

Also:

(IF YOU DO NOT WATCH THIS IN HD, YOU HAVE NO SOUL.)

WAAAAAAAAANNNNNNNNNNNNT.

Between Dragon*Con, Mardi Gras, and this, I WILL HAVE NO MONIES THIS YEAR. :( & :D

... I might or might not be addicted to Japanese BL computer games.

And by 'might', I mean, "HOLY SHIT WHERE DID MY WEEKEND GO AND WHY IS ALL THIS RIDICULOUSLY HOT ANIME SMUT ON MY HARD DRIVE?!"

Just beat Devil May Cry 4. RIP, my right thumb.

Good GOD that game lends itself to button-mashing.

Anywho, webcomics.

Yeah. Um. Does anyone want to explain to me why there is a random musical number in Devil May Cry 4?

I mean, I can deal with Dante being kind of awesome and a whole lot gay. I can even deal with his sense of drama.

But... It was like Grease meets Hamlet.

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO.

GOD DAMMIT, I WANT TO PLAY DANTE'S INFERNO. D:

Scared the bejeezus out of myself with Purgatorium, a point-and-click game from Casual Gameplay. It's short and creepy. I recommend it.

Purgatorium

EDIT: Played the creator's other two games, Exmortis and Exmortis2, which a bit longer and quite freaky.

I let myself get so worked up on the first game, when my roommate opened the door, I screamed like a little girl. Ben Leffler is an evil bastard.

Exmortis

Exmortis 2

And, if you're a glutton for punishment, like myself, then you'll be pleased to know that Leffler is hard at work on an Exmortis 3. Whoo!
