So, I dedicated practically all day today to fixing my bag.
Well, okay, not all day, but certainly all afternoon.
And thus my entire dorsal region is KILLING me.
I patched the bottom two edges with corners of a lavender bandanna, which now looks all stylish and intentional now. I ripped out the seams for the old Velcro, and after careful deliberation, I found a way to ammend my omg-moron moment of buying a zipper too big. I mesured off what I needed, bent the rest, and cut off about an inch before I needed to. Then I sewed the extra length to the back of the zipper proper, and then stitched that flat to the bag. So, while not official or really that pretty, it works, and the zip isn't going to fly off into oblivion at the slightest touch.
I had to run to band practice before I could finish sewing the zipper on, so I'll wrap up my Susie Homemaker phase tomorrow. Maybe I'll even stitch on my Yellowstone Jr. Ranger patch.
Hey, shut up, I earned that patch.
