So I got paid yesterday, and this means real food.
Unfortunately, my closest and most realistic source of real food is Target. Its about two miles from my dorm, so I can bike it, easy. I just can't buy too much.
Anyway, since I do the Target, my food choices are limited.
After living for almost two weeks off of Lucky Charms and deli sandwiches, I was ready for a fucking change.
So we switched to Honey Bunches of Oats w/ Strawberries for ceral, plain yogurt (my drug of choice from France), frozen corn and sweet peas, some granola bars, a bottle of Gatorade, a fridgepack of Diet Coke w/ Lime, and some cool looking seltzer water.
Note that all of this has to fit into a backpack or on the rack behind my bike seat, and make it across two busy intersections.
This, ladies and gentlemen, was an adventure.
Right now I'm heating up some frozen corn and sweet peas in my less-than-enthusiastic microwave, hoping that I can balance out my half-month long lack of ANYthing healthy.
::rubs face:: Ah, college. I'm still clinging to the foolish notion that quality can still equate quantity, even on my limited budget. My mother (God bless the woman) knows a bitch-load of tricks to getting decent food, despite the school cafeteria's many attempts to foil such radical things.
Ah, my veggies just finished. Fucking perfect.
I'm gonna go bask in the vitamins and stuff...
