Yeah, buddy. It is a Friday. And I am ill.
I've been taking Seasonique, the birth control medication that is supposed to only give you 4 periods a year, for about three months. I've been having a steady period for about one and a half of those months.
Lemme explain anemia, to those that have not experienced it. Its a deficiency of iron in your blood, sometimes caused by vitamin issues or, in my case, a lot of blood loss. You get really. fucking. tired. You're pale and achy, with little to no energy. You have shakes, hallucinate, you're irrationally irritable, you're cold all the time, and did I mention the really fucking tired?
Bleeding for a month and a half? Causes anemia. I didn't realize it till this morning, after sleeping a solid 11 hours that night and finding myself slumped against a wall in a half-faint (not a WHOLE faint, dammit. I sat my ass down.) of exhaustion. I was watching the spiders crawl down the walls out of the corners of my eyes, thinking, 'You know? This probably isn't normal...' Ugh.
I'm a lazy bitch in the first place. I do NOT need this.
I've read customer reviews, and there are the select few women for whom the miracle occurs. No period until the pill lets you have one. Then there are some with nausea, headaches, and sensitive skin, which I never exhibited.
And then there's the people like me, who've been bleeding since day one. Doctors everywhere say, 'Wait a year or so.' Yea- no. Blow me. I don't need only 4 periods THAT bad.
So I'm dropping Seasonique and gonna go on the generic pill sometime net week. Yay, drugs.
