Writer's Block: First Aid

[Error: unknown template qotd]I've had to use the Heimleich maneuver on my little brother, once. He was snarfing down some kind of meat at the speed of light, stopped, and started gesturing at his throat.

The first words out of my mouth were, "Do you need the Heimleich?" While practical (if someone is actually choking, they can't speak), but it still struck me as funny.

Illness, Tea, and Tornados: A True Story

Last night, I became the ill. I tossed and turned all bloody night, huddled under my covers.

This morning, I continued to be ill, drugging myself into oblivion so I could at least get some sleep.

Thankfully, my family is awesome, and brought me drugs and tea and food throughout the day.

Meanwhile, I wake up to my sister pounding on my door, telling me that the sky is green and there's a tornado warning for our zipcode. Sure enough, the sky is green, but Weather.com (the number one source of reliable news and information) said the actual tornado was spotted quite a few miles from here. Bad luck for some, but good news for us.

We're keeping an eye (and ear) out for any more storm cells, but hopefully this little natural temper tantrum will only result in a lot of rain.
