i won't do what you tell me
Jul. 18th, 2011 02:00 amMurdering the hell out of what was probably a $100+ leather jacket to start making the boots for my Jack costume. I got the thing from a resident who just up and abandoned it, and the thing was way too big for me, so its death is serving a purpose.
I am quickly learning that I am my mother's daughter in that I am completely unwilling to spend money on something that I could otherwise make with a little creativity and duct tape. The cosplayer I'm emulating was a total pro, who was into stuff like casting the little odds and ends that are attached to the pants and costume, and she definitely mentioned dying cloth to match.
I'm more like, "Soda cans and foam board? WE'RE IN BUSINESS!" And also, sharpie.
Progress is being made!
