Okay, just finished Pulse.
And just realized that I logged onto a coputer to tell ya'll that.
Fuck.
Spoilers.
Good movie, actually. You pretty much got to watch the apocalypse as it happened. Very few movies, and none that I can remember, take place in that span of time. They're always about the recovery, or just after the fact. This one was before, outbreak, and a smidge of after. Kinda fun to see how it affected a college campus...
Well, okay, there is 28 Days Later, but Cillian slept through the main event, so it hardly counts. And the Romero movies, but the outbreak is always kinda on the sidelines. You never actually see it. This movie, you know where the end starts, how it starts, and where its going.
And they managed to make it a monster movie, which has always tickled me.
Not especially creepy, if you discount the suicide scenes. Those were messed up. I actually jumped more at the sudden sound of a door opening than anything jumping out at me. You see that stuff coming.
There was the psychic sideplot that didn't have much to do with anything, but it was fun. Kinda like Jeepers Creepers 2, 'cept without the cheerleaders. lolz, cheerleaders.
A generally good movie in a Wes Craven sorta fashion. And you go to bed secure in the fact that if this ever did come to pass, we would probably be the first ones to know about it.
And with that, I depart to watch Point Break because I wanna see Keanu Reeves fire his gun into the air and go 'ahhhh'.
