Heres a big hint for the tone of the entire film. The aliens did it. Sure, the title lends itself to 'Jaws ripoff' but it is truely about the aliens.
I only wish I was joking.
Okay, basically, alien ship bites it. Sharks go crazy. All of which are great whites. The Floridian in me is like, 'Pft.' Give me a movie with raging bull sharks that can breathe fresh as well as salt water. That is scary shit.
Anyway, Vanessa Angel (does this scream 'stripper name' to anyone else?) and her 'husband' Corin Nemec (who needed a shave) are aboard a biosphere thing in the ocean. So, lots of people get eaten. Try everybody save Ms. Botox and Mr. Jaw Fuzz. There is a fairly good scene when sunbathers in Bermuda bite it before skin cancer can get them, so I would call the sharks a public service. But in essence, they get eaten.
Its really like you're watching three different movies. One is a Deep Space Nine kinda deal, with a Starship Interprise ripoff ship, and alien beings that rip off Predator and Alien all at once.
The second is a Deep Blue Sea meets Meg idea with the nerdy-yet-still-hot guy and the token love interets who does basically nothing.
And the third is a really sad mix of The Hunt for the Red October and Down Periscope. Without the funny. Or Sean Connery.
You have to see this shit to believe it.
I basically sat there with Muriel and MST3Ked the bitch to death.
Which wasn't as fun as it should have been because they just made it too damn easy.
Eh, if there is ever another MST3K like show, I look forward to seeing Raging Sharks get the shaft.
