I have profound thoughts.
Seriously.

I've always loved the idea of a lawless underground of the normal world that no one seems to see. Places where things happen without any real explanation or repercussion. Just constant weird, out in the open where no one notices.

Because the world needs more weird.

Buffy was like that. It opened up worlds that you always knew existed. I think I dubbed them 'I-knew-it!' stories in another post, somewhere...
But it introduced them with humor, horror, and morals. This show actually covered real-world stuff amidst all the weird. Watching it helped me figure out some things for myself, which almost strikes me as unhealthy but, hey, at least its not Oprah.

Not to mention the strong female aspect. Pre-Buffy, we'd never had that. She was new and powerful, and now we all want to be like her when we grow up. Because while she could totally take care of herself, she also dealt with problems we all know all too well. High school (ugh), parents, bullies, college, boyfriends, sex... Maybe we'll never have to deal with the exact extremes that she did, but we still take heart from her example.

You go, girl.

HOWEVER. Its still a tie in my head as to who the story is REALLY about. Spike, Giles, or Xander.

I'm stumped.

Anyway, next up, Angel.
